September 12, 2005, North Andover, MA, USA – In June 2005, The Association of Learned and Professional Society Publishers ALPSP) published an independent study of “Online Submission and Peer Review Systems.” The report gives an objective account of the current state of online peer review systems, including a comprehensive overview of all available systems, descriptions of their features, and it offers a framework for analysis and choosing among them. It then presents the results of three specially-commissioned surveys of authors, referees, editors and publishers.
