EMH Swiss Medical Publisher Ltd. (Schweizerische Ärzteverlag AG) and Aries Systems Corporation are pleased to announce an agreement to deploy Aries’ Editorial Manager online peer-review system to journals published by EMH.
The project will begin with deployment of Editorial Manager to two of the publisher’s leading journals: Swiss Medical Weekly (SMW) and Kardiovaskulare Medizin. First published in 1871 and indexed in Medline, the Swiss Medical Weekly has recently transitioned to English only Open Access format. The deployment of Editorial Manager will further strengthen the rigorous statistical and peer review already undertaken by the journal.
“We make a point of having our proven editorial workflows precisely mapped. For example, for our weekly editorial meetings by telephone we need a convenient overview of manuscripts under review. Thanks to the open systems architecture of Editorial Manager we are able to configure user views independently at any time” says Dr. Natalie Marty, publication manager at EMH. Editorial Manager configurability means that EMH team members will have access to a restricted area in the system where they can immediately view those articles that feature highly on the agenda.
“The configurable nature of the system will enable EMH to publish in an agile manner without compromising our long tradition of quality,” added Dr. Marty. In this respect, Dr. Marty emphasized other attributes of the Aries solution such as local support and convenient database export facilities.
