As such, we were pleased to attend and sponsor the recent Researcher to Reader (R2R) conference in-person for the first time since 2020! Held both virtually and in London, UK for a hybrid attendee experience on February 21-22, R2R 2023 is a forum for discussions on the global scholarly communications ecosystem and lifecycle – bringing knowledge from the Researcher to the Reader.

Jason De Boer, Aries’ Business Development and Partnerships Manager, represented Aries Systems at the conference as a delegate and presenter. During our Lightning Talk Solving Editorial Challenges with Aries’ Ecosystem of Connected Tools on the second day of the conference, Jason highlighted the Aries centralized ecosystem of integrated technologies designed to support various aspects of the publishing workflow. Traditionally, publishers need to individually seek out external tools and services to alleviate editorial and production pain points across disparate systems or need to build their own, introducing risks to quality, increase in costs, and reduced time to publication. As one of the two main channels of the Aries Partner Program, the Aries ecosystem connects Editorial Manager® (EM) and ProduXion Manager® users with best-in-class tools and services all in one place and directly within workflow. This enables publishers to address new initiatives and workflow/quality gaps without the additional investment. Jason concluded his presentation with a spotlight on some of the key technologies included within the various branches of the Aries ecosystem, their providers, and their areas of value-added expertise.

R2R is one of the best networking events in the industry calendar, and it was great to catch up with friends and colleagues, old and new, last week in London.”
