EMUG 2024 Keynote Speaker Announced: AMS’ Robert Harington
Mark your calendars for the 2024 Editorial Manager User Group (EMUG) meeting! Current and prospective Editorial Manager® (EM) and ProduXion Manager® (PM) are invited to join us on June 12-23 at the Revere Hotel Boston Common for EMUG 2024! Aries’ annual user group meetings offer EM/PM users an opportunity to stay informed of the latest innovations, discuss trends in the publishing industry, share workflow processes, and provide direct feedback towards future product development.
We are thrilled to announce Robert Harington, Chief Publishing Officer at the American Mathematical Society (AMS), as our guest keynote speaker for EMUG 2024! Harington will conclude day one of the meeting with his keynote address, Embracing Uncertainty: Navigating AI’s Risks and Rewards, which will explore the fears and opportunities introduced to scholarly publishing through Artificial Intelligence (AI). His presentation will discuss how – as a society – we are addressing various challenges with AI, what roles we play, how we can collaborate to navigate this new era. With emphasis on the reality that AI is already here, Harington will prompt the audience to ponder implications of AI we may have not yet considered, possible scenarios we may face, and how to strike a balance through a deeper understanding of AI.
A networking cocktail reception held on the rooftop lounge of the Revere Hotel will immediately follow the keynote session on June 12. The two-day agenda also features our interactive Discovery Roundtables focus group-style workshop as well as sessions highlighting reporting tips, updates on UI/UX design enhancements, consultations with Aries workflow experts, helpful system integrations, and more! EMUG 2024 is the second in-person user group meeting designed to connect our global user community in a single event, offering publishers and partners a unified educational and networking experience.
Registration is open! Take advantage of discounted early-bird registration rates and reserve a room in our hotel block by Monday, May 20. Space is limited – book your spot today!
