Highlights from ORCID Outreach

Earlier this month, ORCID held its annual US Outreach meeting at GitHub in San Francisco, California.

Aries Vice President of Sales and Marketing Richard Wynne presented a demonstration of Editorial Manager’s ORCID Single Sign On integration for nearly 100 attendees. This, and all integration demonstrations are now available online for viewing by those who did not attend.RichardORCIDSSO

Additionally, here are some fast facts from the meeting:

  • 12% of ORCID iDs belong to researchers in the United States
  • Just 7% of ORCID iDs are duplicate names (which could be legitimate)
  • In China, the top 100 names account for 75% of all names
  • Middle names typically not given in Japan, which makes disambiguation difficult
