Tell us a little about yourself – how long have you been working for Aries? What did you do before joining Aries?

I have been with Aries since September 2019 – two great years! I am part of the Aries Sales team, based in the UK working in the EMEA territory as a Client Development Manager. Prior to joining Aries, I worked in the Corporate Social Responsibility field with various brands and suppliers and managed end-to-end supply chains. I have been part the sales force for twelve years now, running different teams across the sales process, which has helped me in my current position.

How do you stay up to date with customer needs and industry trends?

Talking to different people in the industry and attending and participating in conferences and events is essential for staying informed. It has been difficult to be limited to online-only networking as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic, but our team is doing the best with what we have and are dedicated to staying connected and engaged with our partners, prospects, and user community.

How do you collaborate with other departments within Aries?

The only way the Sales department can be successful is by collaborating with all the departments within Aries. At Aries, it is very easy to approach a colleague to ask for assistance and catch up, so I tend to slack my colleagues a lot. We often collaborate with the Aries Marketing and Client Services teams on prospect collateral, strategic promotions, partner initiatives, customer relations, and more.

Tell me about your department and the people you work most closely with.

The Aries Sales department is great! We are a lean team, but we operate globally – each of us working in (and serving!) different territories around the world. The best part about being on the Aries Sales team is our collective drive to succeed and how we work together to achieve our goals.

Describe your typical workday.

A lot of emails, research, and meetings! I tend to book my meetings in the afternoon and work on my pipeline and admin in the morning.

What do you most enjoy about your job? What do you enjoy most about working for Aries?

I enjoy the everyday challenge of tackling an over-saturated market! Also, I truly believe in the product and service we are providing to the scholarly publishing community. We have a robust, innovative tool that streamlines how knowledge is shared with the world! What’s not to like?! Additionally, Aries is great place to work as it is a small organization within a larger one, allowing us to ripe the benefits of both!

What are you currently reading, listening to, or watching?

I recently finished the Mitch Rapp Saga by Vince Flynn and am currently reading The Gray Man book series by Mark Greaney. Also, I just watched Stay Close series on Netflix, which I think was amazing!

Tell me about some of your hobbies/interests outside of work.

I am addicted to CrossFit and workout six times a week. I am slacking at the moment with all the holidays and travel but eager to get back into my routine. I love to travel and shop too – can’t live without it!
