Meet the Aries Team: Tiffany Taylor, Quality Engineer II
Tell us a little about yourself – how long have you been working for Aries? What did you do before joining Aries?
I have been with Aries two years this month! Prior to working at Aries, I was a student at Boston University studying Finance and Management Information Systems. I am originally from California but stayed in Boston once I was offered the opportunity to join Aries. Currently, I am working remotely in New York full-time as a Quality Engineer II and Scrum Master for the Enterprise squad.
Tell me about your department and the people you work most closely with.
I work closely with my colleagues within Aries’ Quality Engineering (QE) department to finish our squad’s deliverables each sprint, such as helping complete the automation regression tests. In addition, we work with our developers and product owner (PO) to create test plans and test new epics. Although our team is newly formed, we work seamlessly with one another.
Describe your typical workday.
A typical workday will start with our team updates, after which I will update our internal Confluence page with any new information. Prior to a release, I build any bugs or features on Docker, then test them. If it is during a release, I re-test all the bugs and features in the release in our QA environment. When we are working on a new epic, I will typically spend time updating test cases with any changes. If there is extra time in my day, I will spend it working on my personal objectives and key results (OKRs) or on automation.
What do you most enjoy about your job? What do you enjoy most about working for Aries?
I enjoy learning something new every day, even if it is unrelated to my role. Everyone at Aries is so willing to teach you about different work they may be doing across our many departments. Coming out of school I had a very limited knowledge base in QE or development. In the past two years, I have had many colleagues teach me about the things they are working on as well as helping me with any hiccups I may encounter in my work.
What are you currently reading, listening to, or watching?
Like just about everyone else, I am currently watching season 4 of Stranger Things on Netflix!
Tell me about some of your hobbies/interests outside of work.
Outside of work I enjoy traveling and playing soccer. I recently signed up for an adult soccer league and am very excited to start getting outdoors more now that it is officially warm out! The most recent trip I took was last year to Costa Rica.
