More transparency through Event Data
Have you ever wondered, for a particular research object, what kind of social media activity is happening around it?
Maybe it’s your article, or an article published within a journal you manage. Perhaps it’s research your organization funded. Maybe it’s an article you’re considering including in your research. Regardless, it would be helpful to have visibility into it’s ‘social’ life.
Crossref grants this visibility with Event Data. Event Data is a window into a number of individual ‘events,’ such as a bookmark, a comment, a social share, or a link. Reportedly, more than one such event occurs per second. This means that access to review and analyze this data can contribute to the context surrounding the work.
