Having managed their peer-reviewed journal manually and with the aid of outsourced volunteers, in 2008 the Association for Education and Rehabilitation of the Blind and Visually Impaired (AER) selected the EM solution. The move to the electronic system enabled on-time release of the quarterly journal Insight: Research and Practice in Visual Impairment and Blindness and several categorical improvements in content. The association found that the flexibility of EM has resulted in cost minimization, as EM is also utilized to publish books and abstracts and to serve a university program approval function.
