Editorial Manager’s automated data extraction tool, Xtract, streamlines the submission process for Authors by pulling key metadata from manuscript files and pre-populating fields in the system. Although EM does not require conformance to any specific manuscript preparation style for the auto-extraction of submission metadata, Aries recommends these best practices that should yield higher-quality results.

This year’s theme for Peer Review Week (PRW), “Identity in Peer Review”, will highlight the role of personal and social identity in peer review and ways the scholarly community can foster more diverse, equitable, and inclusive peer review practices.
