IUCr’s checkCIF to be added to Editorial Manager’s suite of integrated quality check tools
Editorial Manager is used by more than 6,000 scholarly journals including many published in the fields of chemistry and materials science. For consideration by these journals, authors are often required to submit their crystallographic data files to the IUCr’s checkCIF system for validation. Managing this additional step manually can be inconvenient for authors and journal operations.
To address this need, Aries is pleased to announce that it has entered into an agreement with the IUCr to integrate its checkCIF system with Editorial Manager. Read more.
Interpraevent to organize publication of 13th Congress with Editorial Manager
The International Interpraevent Research Society uses EM for a conference submission deployment managing call for papers processes for the Interpraevent Congress (IP 2016) to be held at Lucerne, Switzerland.
The conference, hosted every four years in the Alpine region, focuses on interdisciplinary research and practice on prevention of Alpine natural hazards. The event not only has a trans-national scope, but also a decentralized organizational team, which made an electronic workflow system necessary.
“By default, EM already offered us very much that fit, and in addition, provided for highly individual adaptations in cases where we wanted to bring in our very particular views,” said Dr. Gernot Koboltschnig, Managing Director of the International Interpraevent Research Society.

Innovative author tool start-up company, manuscriptsapp.com, has entered into an agreement with Aries Systems to facilitate the transfer of manuscripts authored using its application into Editorial Manager. Read more.
Mark Allen Healthcare to deploy Editorial Manager for 28 journals
London-based medical education publisher, Mark Allen (MA) Healthcare, is the latest to adopt Editorial Manager for its 28 journal portfolio. The MA portfolio includes established titles such as British Journal of Nursing, British Journal of Midwifery, British Journal of Hospital Medicine and a growing list of specialist titles.
“MA Healthcare has chosen to move our manuscript submission over to Editorial Manager as we felt it offered a lot of benefits over our current system,” said Rebecca Linssen, Group Editorial Director. “In particular, given the changes in the market, the ability to easily allow authors to submit and pay for open access articles is a great facility. The plagiarism checking and link with eXtyles will be very popular with our editors, making the most of automation and technology to free up their time for more focused commissioning and development of their journals.”
