So that journals can unambiguously identify Authors, Co-Authors, Editors, and Reviewers, EM v9.2 introduces the Contributor ID feature. This means that users who have registered an ORCID at https://orcid.org/register can enter it into their EM user record.

As functionality built into the next two releases of EM, Aries has implemented the ORCID API to “fetch” an existing ORCID and facilitate registration.
