Aries Beta Test Volunteers

Would you like a chance to “test drive” the new features in EM/PM before your publication is upgraded? Being a beta tester is a great way to preview upcoming features and experiment with new workflow options.

Beta testing does not take place on your live EM/PM site, but rather, we “clone” your publication’s site, change all the email addresses to go to a single email address, and then upgrade that cloned site to the new version. This means that you can see exactly how new features work without impacting your live site. Beta testing typically runs from four to six weeks. During that time, we ask testers to configure and integrate the new features into their standard workflows as well as try out new workflows or processes.

Dutch Medical Journal Adopts Preprint Manager for Production Tracking and Automated Reference Checking

Aries welcomes The Dutch Medical Journal (Netherlands Tijdschrift voor Geneeskunde) to its user community. NTvG has joined the growing number of publications extending their workflow solutions to include production tracking and automated reference checking. Submitted manuscripts will be automatically linked to PubMed and/or Crossref and formatted to journal style. Production Tracking provides seamless task management and tracking through to final publication. Journal of Studies on Alcohol and Drugs Selects Editorial Manager and Automated Reference Processing

Aries Systems Corporation is pleased to announce that the Journal of Studies on Alcohol and Drugs (based at the Center of Alcohol Studies, Rutgers University) has entered into an agreement to deploy Editorial Manager. The implementation will include automated bibliographic linking and formatting of author manuscripts using eXtyles technology integrated with Editorial Manager. The publication is the oldest substance-abuse research journal published in the United States and its archives include some of the classic studies on alcohol use and abuse.

European User Group Meetings

The Sixth European Editorial Manager User Group Meeting will take place on December 4th in central London. The Aries team is excited to present many new capabilities added in releases 7.1, 7.2, and 7.3. The meeting will also feature a presentation by Graham Douglas from IOP Publishing who will discuss his implementation of Editorial Manager to process conference submissions.

In view of the growing number of European users of Preprint Manager, Aries is also pleased to announce that the first dedicated Preprint Manager User Group meeting will take place on December 3rd in central London. The half-day meeting is exclusively for Preprint Manager users and will include an open discussion of future requirements.

European Publisher NecPlus will Deploy Journals on Editorial Manager

NecPlus is a new, independent publishing house established in 2008. It publishes French academic journals in HSS (Humanities, Social Sciences and related fields). Journals to be deployed with Editorial Manager for online submission and peer review include:   L’Année psychologique, Revue d’études comparatives Est-Ouest, Enfance, and Communication & languages.
